Great seminar put on by Greg Amundson that covered goal setting and positive self talk! Greg is one of the first ever crossfitters that help forge CF for what it is today. You can find him in many workout videos putting on unbelievable performances and he wrote a few articles in the CF Journal on some advice on how to be a better athlete. We also want to thank Brandon (Owner) from CrossFit CenCal for hosting this seminar and accomidating us all.

Rest Day
The past week at a glance:
-There was a total of 42 PR’s (personal records) on Monday for the CrossFit Total workout!
-We have raised $640 for FGB thus far. Stay after people!
-We are glad to have Steve and Deanna back from there hiking adventure (where are those pix?).
-We have 7 awesome newbies in the box this month.
-Its week two for the Cougars and they are back with a vengenace.
-Sean completed a Seal Fit wod which took 2.5 hours
-Randy actually did a metcon! Too bad it was just the Seal Fit warm up
Relax during the last (unofficial) weekend of the summer. Get outside and enjoy this awesome weather-bike ride, hike, get to a barbecue (aka barbeque) with some cold beverages, or… go jump in a lake!

We will only have two classes tomorrow to get your sweat on at the box (8:00 or 9:00 am). Enjoy the 3-day weekend and we’ll be back to the regular schedule on Tuesday.

I have to give a nod to my U.C. Davis Aggies who travel down to Berkeley to take on the Cal Bears on the gridiron today. This alum will be there and is hoping for a mammoth upset but I’m also a realist (that’s why I’ll be having a few Bloody Mary’s before kickoff!).

Winding down another stellar week of training from everybody! Lots of newbies in the On-Ramp class as well which is exciting. Just a few reminders on a some things headed your way:
1. Crossfit CenCal in Stockton is hosting a FREE seminar this Saturday (9/4) featuring CrossFit legend Greg Amundson. Greg will be taking a few hours to discuss goal setting and positive self talk. I know a few of you are already headed down, anyone else who is interested needs to email me so I can get your name on the list.
2. Remember that we are CLOSED all day Saturday (no regular classes, no newbie classes, no nada). But… we will run an abbreviated Monday (9/6) schedule for the holiday (8:00 and 9:00 am).
3. I’m pretty sure that all of the kinks have been worked out on the Fight Gone Bad registration site. If they haven’t, Josh K. has hooked up a link to Pay-Pal allowing you to donate that way and then he will forward it on to FGB. Either way it’s time to (a) sign up, (b) get your family and friends to sign up, (c) get your rich Great Uncle to donate a bunch of dough to the cause. Minimum donation to participate or spectate is $25.00. Get in the game peeps, September 25th is right around the corner!
4. Judging by the responses yesterday, it appears that an ARCFit Ladies Night has a lot of supporters. Time to nominate a party chair and get to planning!
