“Barbara”
20 Pull-ups
30 Push-ups
40 Sit-ups
50 Squats
5 rounds for time
“Barbara” is a bitch, there is no denying that. Especially when we do it straight through without the 3 minute rest period between rounds. But things could be worse, we could be serving our country overseas without the amenities that we are so accustomed. Our friend and fellow ARCFitter Jason finds himself in that situation currently and he recently sent me an email updating his situation. Here is some of what he wrote:
I’m surviving over here… hot and humid. Seriously, I go out for a run and am drenched after .5M. Glass fog up as soon as I walk outside. The job is ok; I wish I was flying instead of sitting behind a desk, but it’s all good. Definitely Groundhog Day here- same routine, every day.
I am trying to keep up with the work-outs, but still trying to get on a good sleep cycle. My circadian rhythm is still jacked. The gym is crappy- one squat bar, limited kettle balls, and the water pipe (for fire suppresent) in my “room” which I was gonna hang my rings on- well, I hung from it and it was about to rip down. So, no luck with that. My goal is to do Murph every Monday night and try to be able to do it when I leave. I did 8 rds (using Cindy schedule- 5-10-15) and had to call it quits last Monday; I may start swimming once a week as well. I’m working on my DUs (still suck), but the kipping is ok. Easier to stick to Paleo out here than at home actually. My default work-out is the 30 sqs body wt-1000m row-30 burpees…
How’s everything else going? Saw the pics from the 2nd Ann. Looks like a good time… made me jealous. The black-light work-out seemed pretty neat as well.
Hope everyone is doing well… Say hi to everyone…
Anyway, take care
J-
So let’s suck it up and kick some “Barbara” ass-no complaining!

Well, well, well Little Ms. Thang (aka Barbara). Welcome…it was a pleasure… now high tail it out of the box and don’t come back any time soon!

Posted by chad | June 22, 2010, 1:06 pmChad what do you mean no comment on Barbara? It sounds like a great workout to do before your competition on Saturday
Posted by Kat | June 22, 2010, 1:24 pmI was gonna try to make it to a workout today, but I’m certain Barb will hurt me. I’ll still try to make it out!
Posted by Natalie | June 22, 2010, 2:36 pmI’ve never been light headed after a wod until today. That had to be the worst wod ever especially without the 3 min. rest b/w rounds, thanks Chad.
