Getting Started

***LIVING SOCIAL COUPON REDEMPTION***

If you purchased a Living Social coupon during the month of April, you will need to schedule a free intro workout/fitness assesment before redeeming it. Please fill out the form at the bottom of this page to schedule your appointment.  Make sure to download and complete our Waiver  before attending your first workout.  You must bring your voucher with you as well.

Once you’ve completed the intro workout you are free to attend classes for the next 30 days and get exposed to high intensity functional training, and all of its benefits!  Your voucher does not include our On-Ramp program.  You are not obligated to pay for additional months with this deal.  Please keep in mind that nearly 400 of you purchased the voucher and that everyone has to attend the intro workout before starting.  Remember that you have six months to redeem your voucher and may want to consider not starting right away.  We will do our best to get everyone through an intro workout in a timely manner but please be patient.

Because we anticipate that a lot of you will be checking us out, starting in May we are designating our 7:00 am and 7:00 pm classes for the Living Social folks.  Please contact us if you’re unable to attend either of these time slots.  Remember, all of the workouts are scaled to your fitness level!  If you have any further questions regarding the Living Social deal, please contact Coach Larry.

So You Think You Want To CrossFit?

We don’t blame you!

American River CrossFit is unlike any other gym experience you’ve ever had. No matter what your current athletic ability, if you are looking to make positive strides with respect to your health and fitness – we want you here.

We use one on one and small group training classes that incorporate high intensity, short in duration, constantly varied workouts that are NEVER boring. The training environment is always positive and our programming, coaches and nutritional resources are just waiting to help you reach your goals!

But you have to make the first move. Our suggestion: Come by and check us out.

Step One: Attending an Intro Session

Get started now with a free introductory class.  We’ll walk you through our gym, explain the CrossFit methodology and guide you through a mini-workout to give you an idea of exactly what you can expect if you choose to start your journey here. Come down by yourself, with a friend, or in a group – whatever it takes. Just come in!

Don’t worry — this is not your typical gym tour. You’ll be greeted by friendly faces, there’s no uncomfortable selling, and your workout is not a test. We want you to leave with an understanding of how our gym operates, and with a free workout. We think our program and its results speak for itself, but we also know that you may have questions. Consider this intro session your opportunity to interview us. There are a lot of gym choices in the Sacramento area and we want you to feel like you’ve found your match.

Step Two: You Came, You Toured, You’re Interested — Now What?

Congratulations! Showing up to try something new is usually the hardest step. We’re excited you want to join the American River CrossFit Family. Because we see all of our clients as family, we want to make sure we take care of you right from the start.

On-Ramp
Your first order of business will be completing the On-Ramp. This is completed over 9 sessions that take place the first three weeks of each month:
*Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm
*Saturdays at 11am.

The goal is to teach the foundational movements of CrossFit as well as gradually introduce the concept of High Intensity Training. Classes are kept small so that you receive proper instruction on form and technique. We want you to get the hang of things so that you can take full advantage of future group classes in a safe and efficient manner.

Alternative Options
*If you are unable to attend the 3 Week Long On-Ramp, one on one coaching is available at an additional fee.
*If you are an experienced CrossFitter who has been working with another affiliate or have previous experience with Olympic lifting or Power lifting, you may choose to go through a skill assessment session with one of our coaches to determine if the On-Ramp is necessary

Step Three: Determine Which Fee Structure Works Best For You

In order to properly gauge the results that CrossFit can to offer, we require a 3 month commitment. We also offer competitive pricing for longer commitments. Because this is not your average gym experience our fees are not what you typically see at an average gym. On top of access to our workout facility, your monthly fees include:

* Individual and group instruction
* Careful Pre-mediated programming that encourages results (all you do is show up!)
* On going fitness evaluations
* Nutritional Support
* A lot of butt kicking with a large side of encouragement and cheer
* A community of like minded individuals with varied experiences to share

The pricing breakdown and schedule is located here

Step Four: Show up, Try Hard, Get Results

Learn the movements, workout with friends, set some goals and watch your progress take off! Our motto around here: You get out what you put in!
