Getting Started

Schedule a FREE introductory workout so you can check out the place, meet the coaches and get your sweat on.  Send us an email with some days and times that work for you (see the class hours above) and we’ll get you scheduled.  You are always welcome to stop by during regularly scheduled hours and observe a group session.

A waiver and short questionnaire regarding your physical fitness and any medical conditions must be signed before beginning any classes (including the introductory class).  The waiver can be download here. Waivers are also available at the gym when you attend your first class.

New members will be required to take our On-Ramp course before joining the general group classes.  This course consists of 9 sessions and takes place the first three weeks of each month and class days/times are T-Th at 7:00 pm, and Saturday at 11:00 am.  The course is designed to teach the foundational movements of CrossFit as well as gradually introduce the new athlete to the concept of high intensity training.  Topics such as nutrition, mobility and recovery will also be covered.  Class sizes are kept small (6-10 athletes) so that you receive the proper instruction on form and technique that will allow you to participate in future group classes in a safe and efficient manner.  Athletes with prior CrossFit/weightlifting experience may choose to go through a skill assessment session with one of our coaches to determine if the On-Ramp course is necessary.

What if the On-Ramp class times don’t fit with my work schedule or I don’t want to wait a whole month before I start training?  If that is the case, you have the option of signing up for five, one-on-one personal training sessions that teach the same foundational movements as our On-Ramp program but at a slightly accelerated pace.  Once those five training sessions are completed you will be eligible to sign up for our regular group classes.

ARCFit requires a 3 month commitment from our new athletes.  Our goal is to make you into a healthy and strong individual, ready to take on anything that life throws at you.  This requires an investment of time from both the athlete and the coach.  We want to give you every opportunity to succeed and feel that a minimum commitment of 3 months will go a long way toward doing so. To enroll in the Foundations/On-Ramp Program please use the link on the home page that says: Become a Member Now.  Click on Contracts to enroll.

For membership cancellations, or membership holds , we require 30 days notice. Please send an email to Kat at: kathleen@americanrivercrossfit.com to inform us of your cancellation or hold. Speaking to a trainer will not be considered notice. Failure to give 30 days  notice will result in a charge for the next month.
